AMINA Bank AG, Switzerland's FINMA-licensed crypto bank, became the first regulated bank in the world to offer institutional staking for POL, Polygon's native token, combining a base staking yield with a Polygon Foundation reward boost to deliver returns of up to 15% annually for qualified clients.
The POL staking service is built on AMINA's existing institutional custody infrastructure, allowing asset managers, family offices, pension funds, and corporate treasuries to earn blockchain-native staking rewards while remaining within Swiss KYC and AML regulatory requirements. Clients stake through AMINA's custody stack without any direct interaction with validator software or private key management, effectively outsourcing the technical and compliance complexity to a regulated Swiss banking counterparty.
Marc Boiron, Polygon Labs CEO, noted that institutional clients "aren't just buying tokens anymore — they want to participate" in blockchain networks — a shift from passive exposure toward active governance and yield participation that AMINA's structure enables.
The yield structure combines AMINA's standard base staking rate of approximately 4–5% with an additional incentive provided by the Polygon Foundation, bringing total rewards to up to 15%. This boosted rate is explicitly designed to accelerate institutional adoption of the Polygon network, which already leads in everyday payments below $100 across EVM-compatible chains with more than 30% market share, hosts $3.4 billion in stablecoin supply, and leads in emerging market stablecoin activity with 90% market penetration in several regions.
The POL staking launch is the latest product extension from AMINA Bank, formerly known as SEBA Bank, which holds regulatory authorizations in Switzerland (FINMA), Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi, and has since secured a MiCA-compliant license in Austria for EU expansion. The breadth of its regulatory coverage positions AMINA as one of the few institutions capable of serving institutional crypto clients across multiple major financial jurisdictions simultaneously.
For institutional investors seeking regulated on-chain yield, AMINA's POL staking product represents a meaningful expansion of the accessible product set. The boosted 15% rate is likely temporary — as institutional adoption normalizes, the Polygon Foundation subsidy will diminish — but the near-term yield differential makes early entry compelling for investors already holding POL or considering Polygon ecosystem exposure. More broadly, AMINA's positioning as a multi-jurisdiction, multi-asset regulated staking provider signals the direction of institutional crypto banking: not just custody, but active yield participation across the best-performing networks.
